Terms of use
These terms cover the JotScout website, browser demo, and Notepad by JotScout. By using them, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use them.
The initial release
Notepad is a tool for writing and organizing local notes. This release is free and has no purchases or subscriptions. The connected plugin is in private preview. Public OpenAI directory availability depends on review and publication.
Your content
You keep ownership of your notes. You are responsible for what you write, import, export, and share, and for having any necessary rights to that content. The editor does not upload your notes to us.
Backups and local storage
You are responsible for keeping backups. Notes may be lost if browser or app data is cleared, a device is lost, or storage becomes unavailable. Storage is separate between devices and website addresses. We cannot recover local notes from our server.
Acceptable use
Use the service lawfully. Do not try to disrupt the hosting service, bypass its access controls, or use it to infringe another person's rights. Your use of OpenAI or another plugin host is also subject to that provider's terms.
Availability and changes
The app is provided as available, without a guarantee of uninterrupted access or error-free operation. Features and hosting may change. Keep exported copies of important work.
